Kordofan convoy stalled; fuel crisis in East Darfur

The town of al-Daein, capital of East Darfur, is experiencing a severe fuel crisis after the trade convoy failed to arrive from the north.

The convoy bringing fuel is reportedly stalled in al-Nahud in North Kordofan, on the route from Khartoum via El Obeid.

Transportation prices within al-Daein have increased. Sources from the area confirmed that black market prices of gasoline rose to 60 pounds per gallon and 2200 pounds per barrel.

They further noted that the increased fuel prices led to increases in the prices of the other commodities in the area.
