Konga wants Yei citizens to give their views on national dialogue

Former Central Equatoria state governor and presidential advisor for special affairs Clement Wani Konga has urged National Security Services to allow freedom of speech to address issues facing the country through the ongoing national dialogue.

Konga made the appeal on Sunday in Yei town while on a two-week visit to carry out consultations with the people of Yei River State on the national dialogue process.

Konga, who heads the national dialogue committee in greater Central Equatorial, said his delegation wants the locals to give their views on the national dialogue.

“We have come only to hear from you and to register what you say. There is freedom of speech. Nobody and even Jesus Christ will never come to arrest you because what we need is that let the issues affecting South Sudan be exposed and we want to hear this from the people at the grassroots level. If there are people in Yei or Juba under detention, their list must be produced and their release will be ordered immediately,” he said.

Konga said that the national dialogue and the revitalization process is the only hope for peace and stability in South Sudan.
