The King of Morocco, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, on Thursday concluded his two-day official visit to South Sudan after inauguration of a Moroccan mobile clinic in Juba at Dr John Garang Mausoleum.
Speaking during a press conference at Juba International Airport on Thursday, Michael Makuei, Minister of Information and Government Spokesperson, said the government appreciates His Majesty King Mohammed VI for his commitment.
“When His Majesty visited the mobile hospital, he found a young sick man, and he decided to take him and that he should be accompanied by a doctor, he decided to go and treat him and take maximum care until he gets well,”Makuei said.
The information minister pointed out that the Moroccan King has invited President Salva Kiir to visit Morocco on a date to be announced when all preparations are complete.
Separately, the two sides issued a joint statement, saying the two-day visit symbolizes the commitment of the Moroccan King and South Sudan President Salva Kiir on the values of pan-Africanism and solidity.
For his part, Martin Elia, South Sudan’s Minister of Cabinet Affairs, said the Moroccan King assured his commitment to share experiences with South Sudan in the areas of security and social development.
Elia said that the two leaders co-chaired inauguration and launching of ceremonies of different humanitarian development projects including the medical hospital being undertaken by Morocco in South Sudan.
