South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir Mayardit has left to Khartoum for a one-day visit to meet his Sudanese counterpart Omar Hassan al Bashir. The trip came at the invitation of Bashir.
Kiir traveled on Wednesday with a number of his cabinet ministers.
According to Kiir’s spokesman, the trip will focus on ways of implementing the 2012 Cooperation Agreement between South Sudan and Sudan, including Abyei issues.
Ateny Wek Ateny said the bombardment by Sudanese warplanes in Raja County in Western Bahr al-Ghazal will also be on the agenda in the meeting with Bashir.
