Kiir says Sudan not willing to reach solution through dialogue

South Sudanese president Salva Kiir has said the Sudanese government is not willing to reach a solution on border security through dialogue, and wants to occupy South Sudanese territory.

In Juba Kiir told an opening session of parliament that the government submitted a proposal to the African Union and the UN Security Council to refer the security issue for international arbitration to finalise a decision.

Khartoum has said it is against international interference.

Kiir told parliament he believed Khartoum will try to use force to make their demands, but said South Sudan will not stand idly by and will defend itself if attacked.

He added that Juba will not give up any region belonging to the South.
