South Sudan President Salva Kiir has issued an order removing Terekeka state governor.
According to a decree read out on state television on Wednesday night, President Kiir sacked Governor Augustino Laku.
The South Sudanese leader replaced the outgoing governor with Jacob Gore Samuel. The order gave no reasons for the removal of Laku, who was appointed in January 2018.
Last week, at least 22 people were killed and 30 others injured in inter-communal clashes between the Nyangura and Kapura clans over cattle raiding in Terekeka State.
