South Sudanese President Salva Kiir on Monday sacked the undersecretary at the ministry of general education and instruction.

South Sudanese President Salva Kiir on Monday sacked the undersecretary at the ministry of general education and instruction.

According to the order, read on state television, the president removed Michael Lopuke Lotyam, and replaced him with Kayoki Abel Kayoki.

No explanation was given for the sudden sacking of the top civil servant from his position.

Lopuke served as the minister of education in Eastern Equatoria State from 2010 to 2014 before being appointed as the undersecretary at the ministry of general education.
