The commissioner of Besselia County Commissioner in South Sudan’s Wau state said his county has not received any humanitarian assistance donated by the presidency.
At least 27 people have died of hunger in Mboro area of Besselia County so far.
Commissioner Francis Ibrahim told Radio Tamazuj yesterday that recently President Salva Kiir’s office donated about 3,400 sacks of sorghum to the internally displaced people inside the Catholic Church compound in Wau and Jur River County as well as families of government officials in Wau.
Ibrahim added that despite the deaths and rampant hunger in the county, the people of Besselia County did not receive any aid.
