South Sudan President Salva Kiir has revoked the appointment of the recently appointed chief administrator in the office of the president on Monday night before he took oath of office.
The president revoked the appointment of Dr Santino Matiok Akuei through a presidential decree issued last Friday, but he did not give reasons for his dismissal.
Last week, President Kiir appointed Dr Santino Mathiok Akuei as the chief administrator in the Office of the President, replacing Daniel Madit Malek, who was appointed in July.
In another decree, President Kiir appointed Ambassador Sebit Bullen Komodi as the new Chief Administrator in the president’s office to replace Dr. Santino Matiok.
President Kiir has often exercised his powers to appoint and fire government officials, sometimes only a few months after their appointment.
