Kiir reshuffles Unity State SPLM Cabinet

South Sudan`s President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Thursday reshuffled Unity State’s Sudan People`s Liberation Movement (SPLM) allied cabinet ministers.

South Sudan`s President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Thursday reshuffled Unity State’s Sudan People`s Liberation Movement (SPLM) allied cabinet ministers.

The reshuffle also saw revocation and appointment of officials in the state assembly.

In a decree on the state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting Cooperation (SSBC), Kiir relieved Ministers John Yien Kuol (Youth and Sport) Habiba Luk Gatluak Thon, (Roads and Bridges) and Michael Mathiang Dak, (Parliamentary and Legal Affairs).

The President then replaced the officials with; John Gatluak Duor (Finance and Planning) James Gatluak Gatwech Pien, (Youths and Sports) Christine Kom Kuong, (Parliamentary and Legal Affairs) and Michael Mathiang Dak (Roads and Bridges).

In another decree, Kiir relieved Mayom County Commissioner John Bol Mayak and replaced him with Luka Cheri Riek.

The President also revoked the appointment of John Gatuak Duor, Deputy Speaker of Unity State Parliament, Christine Kom Kuong, James Galuak Gatwech Pien as members to the State Parliament.

He immediately replaced the lawmakers with John Makuli Riek, as the Deputy Speaker, Gordon Gatkuoth Ruot, Kasare Puot Puok, and John Yien Kuol as MPs in the Unity State Parliament. No clear reasons were given with regard to the changes.

In another decree, President Kiir appointed Eng. Deng Luol Wol, Director General for Petroleum Exploration and Production Authority in the Ministry of Petroleum.
