South Sudan`s President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Monday reshuffled officials of the Sudan People`s Liberation Movement in Opposition (SPLM-IO) in four states.
The affected states include: Northern Bahr el Ghazal, Central Equatoria, Eastern Equatoria and Western Bahr el Ghazal.
In Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, Kiir relieved Anei Deng Akok, Minister for Agriculture and Environment, and Dut Majokdit, Chairperson Relief and Rehabilitation and replaced them with Aweya Aweya Makuei and Benson Lual Awoc Dut respectively.
In Central Equatoria State, the President relieved Wayi Godwil Edward, Minister for Cabinet Affairs and replaced him with Lupai Satimon Andrew.
The Head of State also relieved Palacidi Kok Komakech, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Environment in Eastern Equatoria State and replaced him with Ochola Bosco Oringa.
The presidential decree did not spare Central Equatoria State Parliament where he revoked the appointment of Dabe Francis and replaced him with David Lisi Christopher.
In Western Bahr el Ghazal, Kiir relieved Daniel Awong Dut, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Environment, Vincent Taban Suru, Health Minister and Valentino Akec Akur Deputy Chairperson Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation Commission.
He appointed Valentino Akec Akur as Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Environment and Dr. Francis Michael Hassan Badoli Minister for Health.
President Kiir did not give reasons for the changes but quoted provision of Article 106 (a) 2(a) of the Transitional Constitution of South Sudan read together with Articles 1.9, 2.9, and 1.16.2, 1.16(3) and annexure D implementation matrix number 20 and 21 of the peace agreement and Section 38 (1) of the implementation of laws and General Provisions Act 2006.
