Kiir reshuffles Northern Bahr el-Ghazal officials

President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Monday reshuffled officials in the Northern Bahr el-Ghazal State government and revoked the appointment of lawmakers in the State Parliament.

The members reshuffled were from his Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM), who were appointed in the Unity Government.

In a decree aired on the state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC), Kiir relieved Angui Akot, Advisor on Legal Affairs, Zachariah Garang Lual, Minister of Information and Communication, Andrew Lual Bulo, Minister of Finance, Planning and Investment, Santino Bol Akok, Minister of General Education and Instruction, and Kerbino Tiep Tong, Minister of Animal Resources, Fisheries and Tourism of their duties.

He appointed Awet Kiir Awet, Advisor on Legal Affairs, Gabriel Deng Yel, Minister of Information and Communication, Ruai Dut Akol, Minister of Finance, Planning and Investment, Akon Diing Angok, Minister of General Education and Instruction, and Dut Akot, Minister of Animal Resources, Fisheries and Tourism.

Kiir relieved Acuil Longar Acuil, the Chairperson of Human Rights Commission, Santo Ayuel Akuei, Deputy Chairperson HIV/AIDs Commission, Angelo Deng Akol, Deputy Chairperson of Relief and Rehabilitation Commission, Garang Amet Atem, member, Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation Commission, Magdalina Alakir Dut, member, HIV/AIDs Commission, Mohammed Mustafa Mohammed, member, Employees Justice Chamber, and Angelo Akwoch Ngong, member, Anti-corruption Commission of their duties

He replaced them with Santo Ajith Angony, Chairperson of the Human Rights Commission, Joesph Lual Dengdit, Deputy Chairperson, of the HIV/AIDs Commission, Zachariah Mayuol Deng, Deputy Chairperson of Relief and Rehabilitation Commission, Garang Kuac Ariath, member, Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation Commission, Mathew Ayaga Thanyany, member, HIV/AIDs Commission, Sadiq Iddris Isak, member, Employees Justice Chamber, Abuk Ukuch Aken, member, Anti-Corruption Commission. 

The South Sudan leader also relieved Peter Nalali Ukech Aweil, the Center County Commissioner and, Kiir Chan Wol Aweil North County Commissioner of their duties and replaced them with Magdelina Alekir Dut and Deng Kuel respectively.

Kiir did not spare the State Parliament where he revoked the appointment of lawmakers, including Moses Atak Geng, Akok Kuc, Mathiew Ayaga Thanyany, Abraham Arik Piol, Garang Kuac Ariath, and Salva Dor Garang Athieng and replaced them with Mangok Deng, Martin Mawien Akok, Benson Upothmalo Garjuak, Ayak Bak Aguer, Akon Diing Angok, and Ajak Ayom Ayom.

He did not give any reasons for the changes.
