Kiir replaces Road Ministry Undersecretary

President Salva Kiir on Wednesday evening issued decrees affecting several officials in the Unity Government in three states.

In a decree aired on the state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC), Kiir replaced the Undersecretary, Ministry of Roads and Bridges, Peter Kuot Jiel, with Philip Thon Juar Will.

In Central Equatoria State, Kiir replaced the Kajo-Keji County Commissioner, Panuel Dumo, with David Lisi Christopher, representing the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement in Opposition (SPLM-IO).

The President also appointed Duma Emmanuel from the SPLM-IO to the Central Equatoria State Legislature.

In Western Equatoria State, Kiir replaced the Advisor on Peace and Security Affairs, Simon Bakama Monday (SPLM). He also fired the commissioners of Mvolo and Ibba counties, John Kome Dee (SPLM-IO) and Philip Ghaza (OPP) respectively.  Kiir appointed Ruben Amai Majoub (SPLM-IO), the Mvolo County Commissioner and Wilson Hassen (OPP) for Ibba. 

In Western Equatoria, Kiir revoked the appointments of James Ramadan, Philip Adigo and John Idri, all SPLM-IO, as parliamentarians. He replaced them with William Sabata Odule, Tito Abujohn Kamisa and James Basuin Timon, all SPLM-IO.

In Jonglei State, President Kiir sacked Trade and Industry Minister David William Tut (OPP) and Jacob Chol Tor (OPP) as Twic East County Commissioner. He appointed Majur Kon Kuer Kot (OPP) the new Minister for Trade and Industry, and Juach Arong Juach Ajang (OPP) as Twic East County Commissioner.

Also in Jonglei State, the President revoked the appointment of Gai Ajim Leek, from the National Agenda as a lawmaker.

In Lakes State, Kiir relived Juma Daffalah Rajab (OPP) of his duties as Wulu County Commissioner, Samuel Marirar Maruil (SPLM/IO), Cueibet County Commissioner, and Bol Akot Agok (SPLM/IO), Yirol West County Commissioner.

He replaced the commissioners with; Justin Majong Maniyel (OPP) in Wulu, Daniel Deng Mario (SPLM/IO) in Cueibet and Mariar Makeny Tut (SPLM/IO) in Yirol West.

The Head of State also revoked the appointment of Wande Malok as a parliamentarian in the Lakes State and replaced him with his SPLM/IO colleague Cuol Mel Ngachidak.
