South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Monday night fired the Chief Administrator in his office and announced a replacement.
In a decree read on the state-owned television, South Sudan Broadcasting Cooperation, Kiir relieved Paul Polo Ongee from the position of Chief Administrator in the Office of the President and replaced him with Yel Lul.
Lul who served as Executive Director in the Office of the President was fired in 2015 after an embezzlement scandal involving millions of dollars from the president’s office.
He was then found guilty of misappropriating funds and sentenced to imprisonment but later pardoned by President Kiir and released.
In another decree, Paul Polo Ongee was appointed the undersecretary in the Ministry of Investment.
In yet another decree, Kiir also fired Mayen Wol who was the undersecretary of the Ministry of Petroleum, and appointed William Anyak Deng to the position.
