Kiir replaces Director General for Petroleum exploration

South Sudan`s President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Wednesday sacked the Director General for Petroleum Exploration and Production Authority at the Ministry of Petroleum.

In a decree aired on the state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC), Kiir relieved Eng. Deng Lual Wol and appointed Eng. Kon John Akot as Director General for Petroleum Exploration and Production Authority.

As is characteristic of President Kiir’s appointments, no reasons were given for the changes.

In another decree, Kiir appointed Zachariah Kojo Agula as the Technical Advisor to the Petroleum Ministry.
