South Sudanese President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Monday issued a decree relieving the undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Mayen Machut Achiek.
Dr. Machut was appointed to the position in June 2020. It is not clear why he was fired.
In another decree, Kiir appointed Dr. Victoria Anib Majur as the new undersecretary of the Ministry of Health.
President Kiir also revoked the appointment of Hon. Henry Stephen Danga of SPLM to the Transitional National Legislative Assembly (TNLA) representing Central Equatoria State, barely two days after his appointment.
In yet another decree, Kiir appointed Hon. Anita Morsan of Eastern Equatoria State and Hon. John Madeng Chan of Jonglei State, both from the SPLM to the TNLA to replace members whose appointments were revoked.
On Saturday, the president revoked the appointment of up to 35 MPs and made new appointments. The MPs, a majority of who were from the incumbent SPLM-ITGoNU ticket were appointed in May this year.
The members of the TNLA and the Council of States are expected to be sworn in on 9th July 2021, during the 10th independence anniversary celebrations in Juba.
