South Sudan President Salva Kiir has reconstituted the Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration Commission (DDR), in line with the revitalised peace deal.

South Sudan President Salva Kiir has reconstituted the Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration Commission (DDR), in line with the revitalised peace deal.

Kiir, in a decree read on state television on Wednesday night, appointed representatives of the parties to the peace deal into the commission.

The appointed officials are:

Ayuen Alier Jongroor, chairperson – TGoNU

Regina Joseph Kaba, deputy chairperson – SPLM-IO

Marial Chanuong Yol, member– TGoNU

Wilson Deng, member– TGoNU

Simon Wani Ramba, member – TGoNU

Peter Panyang Daniel, member– TGoNU

Izz al-Din Bashar Monday, member–SSOA

Hoth Guor Luok, member– SPLM-IO

Sisco Lam Jiech, member – FDs

Tong Achuil Tito, member –OPP

William Deng Deng, executive secretary –TGoNU

Wilson Lual Lual, expert –TGoNU

The DDR commission, mandated by the revitalized peace agreement, is largely charged with the critical responsibility of managing the social and economic reintegration of ex-combatants.
