Kiir receives five ambassadors in Juba

South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir accepted the accreditation of five foreign ambassadors in Juba Friday.

South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir accepted the accreditation of five foreign ambassadors in Juba Friday.

Envoys from Benin, Czech Republic, Italy, Palestine, and Portugal presented to Kiir at the Presidential Palace.

Karel Hejc, Ambassador of the Czech Republic, said that his government is ready to support South Sudan’s economy in order to help the African nation realize stability.

“The Republic of South Sudan has all the potential to be a very wealthy country, so at the end of the day it really comes to how to acquire peace and stability of the country,” Hejc said. “I assured the president our full support.”

Palestinian Ambassador Kamel Abdallah Qazzaz said: “Today, I am pleased to submit my accreditation letter as an ambassador to the Republic of South Sudan. As the whole world knows our existence of Palestinian State and we are continuing in peace process and dialogue with Israel for the sake of the formation of our state based on the borderline 1967 side-by-side with the Israeli state.”

“We are working for the formation of our state and will go to the United Nations Security Council and General Assembly of the United Nations, and we believe that South Sudan will stand with us like they did vote for the recognition of Palestine state during the last voting two month ago,” he added.

South Sudan has voted in favor of moves toward recognizing Palestinian statehood at the United Nations General Assembly.

“Our people and leaders were all stand for peace option, and as Palestinian leaders we are urging you and your presiden…to put more pressure on Israel’s government to respect and be committed with the international legitimate resolutions and peace process so that we can build our independent state of Palestine,” Qazzaz said.
