The president has intervened with directive to supply fuel to the hospital and pay the staff as a priority,” said a presidential souce when asked what the Office of the President was doing about the situation of the main hospital.
The official said the president has directed the ministry and Nilepet to ensure the delivery of one year of fuel to the hospital so that the issue of power outage should not come up again in near future.
John Chol Tipo, Director General at Juba Teaching Hospital, also resports that staffs have started receiving salaries but said they were getting only one month pay while the rest of their backpay is still outstanding. He also admitted that the president had intervened, saying administrative work were being done to receive the fuel to start normal operation at the hospital.
