Kiir fires office Chief Administrator

South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir on Friday sacked the Chief Administrator in his office, Daniel Madit Malek.

In a decree broadcasted on the state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC), the President announced Dr Santino Mathiok Akuei as Malek’s replacement.

No explanation was given for replacing the Chief Administrator who was appointed in July.

President Kiir as often exercised his powers to appoint and fire government officials, sometimes only a few months after their appointment.
