Kiir fires Immigration Chief, Central Bank Deputy Governor

South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Thursday night sacked the Director General of Immigration, Civil Registry, Nationality, and Passport, the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank, and the Undersecretary in the Ministry of Mining.

In a decree broadcast on the state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting Cooperation (SSBC), Kiir relived Cosmas Pitia Kujo, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Mining, and appointed Dr. Santino Mathiok as his replacement.

The president also replaced Maj. Gen Simon Majur Pabek with Maj. Gen. Elia Costa Faustino as the Director General for Immigration, Passport, Nationality, and Civil Registry.

Kiir relieved Yeni Samuel Costa, First Deputy Governor of the Bank of South Sudan, and replaced him with Dr. Addis Ababa Othow.

In other decrees, the president appointed Nyuol Justin Yac and Ezekia Alfandi Gibson as the Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson of the South Sudan Human Rights Commission, respectively.
