Kiir fires GPAA Chief Administrator, Defense Ministry Undersecretaries

South Sudanese President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Monday night fired the Chief Administrator of the Greater Pibor Administration Area (GPAA) and the two undersecretaries in the Ministry of Defense and Veteran Affairs.

South Sudanese President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Monday night fired the Chief Administrator of the Greater Pibor Administration Area (GPAA) and the two undersecretaries in the Ministry of Defense and Veteran Affairs.

In a decree televised by the state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC), Kiir sacked Lokali Ame Bullen and replaced him with Gola Boyoi Gola as the Chief Administrator for the GPAA.

Gola Boyoi is the immediate former president of the South Sudan National Youth Union, a role he assumed in December 2019.

In another decree, Kiir fired the two undersecretaries in the defense ministry, Victor Atem Atem, Undersecretary for Defense, and Biar Atem Ajang, Undersecretary for Veteran Affairs.

The South Sudanese leader then appointed Kuol Deng Kuol, Undersecretary for Defense, and Akec Tong Aleu, Undersecretary for Veteran Affairs.

No reasons were given for the changes.
