South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir has appointed a former army general as principal of the SPLM political school.

Kiir, the state-owned television (SSBC) reported Tuesday, named Gen. Kuol Deim Kuol, who has been in non-active military service since 2013.

Kuol, will be deputized by Antipas Nyok, currently an envoy in charge of the country’s international conferences on the Great Lakes region.

Both officials, although not much is known about the political school of the country’s ruling Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM), will sit at the national secretariat, also the ruling party’s headquarters.

The president’s decree neither mentioned the location of the political school nor hinted on the roles the new principal and his deputy would play.
