South Sudanese President Salva Kiir on Thursday appointed members that will fill the positions of the Central Bank of South Sudan (BoSS) board positions.
The appointed members who are set to be in charge of the BoSS board of directors are nine.
The appointees are:
-Governor of the Central Bank, chairperson
-First deputy governor of the Central Bank, first deputy chairperson
-Deputy governor of the Central Bank, deputy chairperson
-Agoyom Akomjo Musellam, member to serve for term of two years
-Helen Pita Taban, member to serve for term of two years
-Samson Samuel Wasara, member to serve for term of five years
– Nyiel Gordon Kuol, member to serve for term of five years
-Adel Atnasio Surur, member to serve for term of seven years
-John Maciek, member to serve for term of seven years
Under the BoSS Act, the board is charged with the adoption of the principal policies of the bank and the supervision of the administration and operations of the bank.
In carrying out its functions, the board assesses the monetary and economic situation in South Sudan, and requires the governor and other senior officials of the bank to provide reports to enable the board to make such assessments.
