President Salva Kiir of South Sudan has appointed Paulino Wanawilla as Justice Minister, being previously involved in the South Sudan Referendum Commission. The position remained vacant after the parliament rejected his earlier choice, Telar Ring Deng.

Deng will be reappointed as Presidential advisor on Legal Affairs, a position he held previously.  Former Defence minister General John Koang Nyuon will become the caretaker vovernor for the  Jonglei State, replacing Kuol Manyang Juuk who has become the minister of Defence.
