Kidnapped UN worker still missing in Abyei

The head of the nine Ngok Dinka chiefdoms in Abyei, Chief Bulabek Deng Kuol, said whereabouts of a kidnapped driver working for the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) remain unknown.

The chief told Radio Tamazuj that UNISFA is still searching for the kidnapped driver at the border with Sudan.

The driver was abducted when his vehicle was hijacked on 6 January.

He said that UNISFA asked the Sudanese authorities officially to cooperate in looking for the perpetrators, while suspecting the kidnappers to have headed north.
