Sudan’s government has called on South Sudan to fulfil its promises and to expel Sudanese rebel groups who are still in its territory, saying Khartoum has been too patient with its southern counterpart.

In a Sunday statement, Kamal Ismail, State Minister of Foreign Affairs, told the Sudanese Media Centre (SMC) said that the Juba government had pledged to expel the Sudanese rebels from its territory, saying they know very well that it continues to harbour the rebel groups until now.

The Sudanese official further said they are still waiting for South Sudan to implement its promises.

In October 2016, Sudan’s President Omer al-Bashir gave South Sudan two months to expel the rebels and threatened to reconsider the 2012 Joint Cooperation Agreements signed by the two countries.
