The Vice Chancellor of Khartoum University Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Suleiman has issued a decision reinstating 11 university students who were dismissed over violence last year.
Dr. Suleiman issued another decision suspending two female students for two academic years instead of final dismissal from the university.
In a press release, Dr. Suleiman said that the decision was taken after the dismissed students presented appeal letters, besides the recommendations by the Council of Deans during its extraordinary meeting on Tuesday. The decision directed all relevant departments to allow the 11 students to continue with their studies normally.
The fate of other four dismissed students remains unclear.
