Sudan’s humanitarian relief commission has accused the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North of misleading people in their areas of control into thinking they may be harmed if they cross to government-controlled areas.

Instead, the citizens are able to receive relief supplies and assistance in the government areas, according to the government.

SPLM/A-North has been fighting the government in Blue Nile and South Kordofan since 2011.

Ahmed Mohammed Adam, Chairperson for Sudan’s Relief Commission, told press in Khartoum that they are ready to provide humanitarian assistance to all people in need without any discrimination.

He added that they have repaired four boreholes in Khor Adela and Soug Jebel, noting that they have also repaired some schools in Abbasiya Tagali.

Ahmed urged SPLM-N to accept peace.

Meanwhile, Commissioner of Abbasiya Tagali Daoud Abu Kalam accused the armed movement of misleading people who are returning to government-held areas that they will be killed, claiming that the government is providing humanitarian assistance to those who cross from rebel-held areas in South Kordofan.
