Sudan’s Minister of Social Welfare Masheer Eldoulib said her country welcomes South Sudanese and Syrians fleeing war.

Sudan’s Minister of Social Welfare Masheer Eldoulib said her country welcomes South Sudanese and Syrians fleeing war.

Eldoulib’s remarks coincide with the Muslim holy month Ramadan as well as World Refugee Day, which is celebrated this year on Saturday 20 June.

“We welcome all the communities that came to Sudan following the difficulties that their countries are facing, such as Syria and the Republic of South Sudan, especially during this holy month of Ramadan,” she said, speaking to Sudan Radio.

Eldoulib called upon the Sudanese society known for its values, customs, and generosity to offer them good hospitality and make them feel that they are among their family.

The minister commended the role played by Sudanese civil society organizations. “They are playing a very big social and humanitarian role that is so appreciated and respected,” Eldoulib said.
