Citizens in Al Giref Gharb residential area in Sudan’s capital Khartoum have clashed with police this morning and blocked roads in protest against alleged land grabbing by the government.

A source told Radio Tamazuj today that police personnel arrived in the area and used excessive force to disperse the protests, saying a man called Motasim Algam and several others were wounded.

He pointed out that two men identified as Badr al-Din Al Zaim and Izz al-Arab were arrested by the police. Reportedly, the government blocked journalists from going to the place where the citizens are still protesting.
