The Governor of Khartoum State, Ahmed Osman Hamza, has announced the provision of Starlink internet connection devices to residents of Karari Locality in Omdurman.
In a press statement seen by Radio Tamazuj, Governor Osman said the devices will be distributed carefully to cover highly populated areas.
He directed technicians to immediately begin installing the devices in the locality so that citizens can start enjoying internet as soon as possible.
Governor Osman decried the suffering caused to residents by the disruption of the internet services.
During the recent period, Sudan witnessed a complete interruption of telecommunications companies, which affected banking and communications services.
This has been occasioned by the ongoing war between the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Sudanese Army.
Several other services have been grounded by the close to 10-month war that has seen millions displaced into Internally Displaced People’s (IDP) camps as millions seek refuge in neighbouring countries.
