The Sudanese government has accused the armed opposition groups of lacking seriousness to engage in serious peace talks on Darfur, South Kordofan and Blue Nile regions.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, Ahmed Bilal Osman, Minister of Information, said that the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) and the Sudan Liberation Movement (SLM) led by Minni Minnawi as well as the SPLM-N rebels are not serious to engage in peace talks seriously.
He pointed out that the government will not accept to participate in peace negotiations that can collapse at any time, saying the armed groups wanted to buy time in order to get rid of the international pressure only.
Bilal, who is also the government spokesman, said the government will announce its position clearly on the peace talks after the ongoing National Dialogue in October.
