The Sudan Refugee Commission said 2400 Sudanese refugees from Blue Nile who had taken refuge in Asosa, Ethiopia returned to their home state and were received in Damazin.
In a press statement, Refugee Commissioner Hamad Al-Juzuli said a delegation of national and local officials was scheduled to visit the returnees Wednesday to determine their needs.
“We will work to sign a memorandum of understanding with Ethiopia to facilitate the return of Sudanese refugees who have shown interest in returning home,” Al-Juzuli said.
The commissioner added that security in Blue Nile is stable.
