Kenyans living in South Sudan’s Northern Bahr al Ghazal state have complained that they will not be able to vote in tomorrow’s polls.

Kenya heads to the polls on August 8. The race for Kenya's presidency is between Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga as well as other contestants.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj from Aweil today, several Kenyans said the electoral body locked them out and failed to list them as voters.

Edig Gore, a Kenyan businesswoman in Northern Bahr el Ghazal, said they are ready to observe the elections in their current location.

“We are just hoping for peaceful elections in Kenya. We are very many if we can be given a chance, we would like to vote here because we are very many in Aweil market,” said Gore.

Musa Agishorup, a Kenyan trader, said they held special prayers for peaceful elections in Kenya.

Over 500 Kenyan nationals are living in Aweil.
