Farmers in Katella in Sudan’s South Darfur State are complaining that camel herders are destroying agricultural fields as they are preparing to harvest crops.

Several farmers told Radio Tamazuj that camel herders have destroyed agricultural land during this year’s harvest especially in the east of Katella.

The complaint comes after the local authorities set up a committee headed the commissioner to protect the agricultural season.

However, the committee has not yet started its work due to a lack of vehicles at Police Department.

The farmers called upon the relevant authorities dispatch to a security force to protect the agricultural fields, while warning the camel herders to move away from the community’s agricultural land.
