Farmers in Katela locality in Sudan’s South Darfur State say they are concerned their crops yield could get affected due to insufficient rains this year’s farming season.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj yesterday, several local farmers said that if there is no rainfall for weeks, all their crops would become wilted and the yield would decline.
The complaining farmers pointed out that the lack of rain has already affected some agricultural fields, especially in muddy areas, amid fears that this would affect this year’s production.
They expressed concerned about the lack of rain as the potential for high yielding crops continues to shrink due to a lack of moisture.
