The Commissioner of Jur River County has sacked one of the chiefs in his county accusing him of not cooperating with authorities in the county.

Elario Ayoro, chief of Atido Boma, was dismissed by the commissioner last week after a peace conference.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, Commissioner John Arop Apai said Chief Elario was sacked because he refused to attend a peace conference among farmers, chiefs and nomads of both Warrap and Western Bahr el Ghazal last week at Roc Roc Dong Payam.

Ayoro was reportedly also a member of the state police service. Explaining the chief’s dismissal, Arop pointed out also that a chief cannot also have the time to serve in the police service.

Elario could not be reached by Radio Tamazuj to react to the allegations raised against him by the county commissioner.
