'Jubek State' employees go nearly three months without salary

The appointed governor of South Sudan's so-called Jubek State Augustino Jadalla Wani told journalists last week that civil servants have not received pay fo rnearly three months.

Jadalla said he has received reports that some officials are using the money for salaries for their own businesses, but he denied that the government is profiting from workers' salaries.

He attributed the delay to the current situation in South Sudan. He urged the state officials to work hard to meet the demands of the citizens despite the tough conditions in the state and country.
