Jubek governor swears in cabinet

The cabinet of the proposed Jubek state of Central Equatoria took their oath of office before appointed state governor Augustine Jadallah Wani.

Speaking on behalf of the cabient, deputy governor Francis Lotiyu Michael said they would work to reduce suffering of the people.

“We are here to serve the interest of the people of Jubek State in particular and the people of the republic of Southern Sudan in general. We need Jubek to be an exemplary and to lead other states both socially and economically,” he said.

“Our motto shall be efficienct delivery of goods and services to our people in Jubek State and its counties. We need to be economically self reliant and self sufficient in terms of food security for family consumptions and marketing.”

He urged the people of the state and government officials to work together to achieve this objective by implementing the vision 2040 formed by Central Equatoria State.

The deputy governor called on the government actors in Jubek State to encourage a policy of group participation in all the sectors of the economy with special consideration to cooperative groups as means to increase production.     

Governor Jadalla urged the cabinet and the assembly to work together to realize the success of the new state.

“I urge the executive to work with legislature including local government to make sure that we put security and food security as our number one agenda. I urge minister of agriculture to fight hunger in our state and let us not focus on salaries only,” he said.

Jaddalla gave the new cabinet 180 days to prove their ability or risk losing their jobs. He told them to behave well and respect others rather than exploitation the powers to deprive people of their rights.

The cabinet members are:

Dr. Wani Sule Abdurrahman – minister of education, gender and social welfare

Dr. James Jada – health and environment

Isaac Benjamin Jada  – local government and law enforcement

Salah Rajaf Bunduki  – information, culture, youth, and sports

John Eugeno Laku – finance and public service

Rose lisok Paulino – agriculture and forestry

Juma Steven Lugga – physical infrastructure

Peter Panuel Yatta – advisor on political affairs

Brig Peter Jaden – advisor on security

Antonio Legge – advisor on peace and reconciliation
