Jubek cabinet reports rising suicide cases

Salah Rajab Bondogi, Minister of Information in South Sudan’s Jubek State, said the state is witnessing cases of suicide rising from either harsh living conditions or family problems.

Salah Rajab Bondogi, Minister of Information in South Sudan’s Jubek State, said the state is witnessing cases of suicide rising from either harsh living conditions or family problems.

Speaking to reporters after the cabinet meeting on Thursday, Minister Raja said the Jubek government expressed concerns about rising cases of suicide in various areas in the state.

However, the official didn’t say how many people have committed suicide so far in the state.

Separately, Rajab Bondogi said the cabinet also discussed the security situation in the state, and land disputes between Lobonok County of Jubek State and Kajo-keji area of Yei River State over cattle being grazed on agricultural fields.

“It is really between the border of Lobonok and Kajo-Kaji Counties,” he said. “There are no more details but cattle keepers according to the information, they are not from the state, they came from somewhere,” he added.

The information minister further said the state council of ministers listened to a report presented by the local government minister on border disputes between Dollo and Wonduruba Counties.

The two counties claim ownership of Katigiri area, according to Bondogi.
