A fuel shortage is still disrupting public transport in South Sudan’s capital Juba, forcing some commuters to walk in order to get to work or home.
Witnesses said they saw people queuing for long hours at petrol stations owing to a lack of fuel. The price for a bottle of fuel in black market costs 80 SSP.
Organized forces were also seen at the petrol stations in Gudele and Munuki residential areas. Security personnel have reportedly reached a deal with fuel station owners on what portion of fuel stocks may be sold on the black market.
Several citizens confirmed that the scarcity of fuel has paralyzed their movement. They called on the government to intervene to bring an end to the current fuel crisis in Juba.
