Nyakuron FC has qualified for the local first division championship in Juba after a barren 2-2 draw against the Black Eagles FC at Buluk Stadium on Monday.
The match saw Emmanuel Khamis of Nyakuron FC taking the lead with a goal, followed by a brilliant strike from Alan Moro in the first half.
Black Eagles’ Madut Atem, along with his teammate Isaac Khawaja, managed to equalize the score, leading to an intense draw at the end of the match.
Peter Angok, the coach of the Black Eagles team, told Radio Tamazuj that his players showed up well in the second half after a poor show in the first half.
“This change helped them return to the match and achieve a draw. We were supposed to defeat Nyakuron FC,” he said.
Joseph Lado Malone, the coach of the Nyakuron team, said his side had been waiting for the moment match for a long time, admitting that the match was not easy either.
“It is a step forward for us, and we will be strong in the face of the next challenge coming our way.”
With this result, the Nyakuron team raised its score to seven points, strengthening its lead in the league’s standings. Black Eagles scored two points, placing it in third place.
