Juba Film Festival opens applications

The organizing committee for Juba Film Festival said it has started receiving applications from film producers who are willing to take part in this year’s festival that will award the best film or documentary produced in South Sudan.

The committee said the chance is still open until the end of this month.

The festival’s coordinator Simon Bingo told Radio Tamazuj the main objective of the festival is to encourage local film producers to produce films and documentaries from different ethnic groups in South Sudan.

Bingo further said that the committee has received more than 46 applications so far, adding that the target 60 applications this year.

“We want to make this festival an international event that is why we have opened the door for foreigners so that they can also help in disseminating more positive stories about South Sudan,” said Bingo.
