Authorities of Juba County in Central Equatoria State have revealed a plan to establish a central passenger vehicle terminus.
County Commissioner Emmanuel Tete Ezbon confirmed on Tuesday that the Central Equatoria State was committed to the establishment of the terminus to reduce the number of stations in Juba town, noting that the Gumba one was congested.
“Gumba Sharikat station is considered the face of the city, like the Juba International Airport, which has external stations. There are buses to Uganda and Kenya, so we are working hard to expand the stations, especially in eastern Nile.”
Tete stated that the residents had received the decision by Juba County well and thanked them for their good cooperation with the authorities.
He indicated that the province would incorporate the investment in the Juba city plan.
“There are huge investments without quality infrastructure,” hence our call to the residents to cooperate in the investment plan, Tete said.
Further, the Commissioner revealed a long-term plan regarding the shops made from iron sheets in the city, urging the business community to build decent structures.
“We do not want to use force, but it is advisable to build structures that are worthy of the stature of the capital,” he said.
