Authorities of the Juba City Council on Friday launched a modern parking yard at Hai Malakal to resolve an existing parking dilemma in Konyo-Konyo market and Hai Malakal.
The new parking facility has reportedly cost up to 27 million South Sudanese pounds.
Speaking during the launch of the new parking yard on Friday, Acting Town Mayor Sylvester Omini Balla said the modern parking yard clearly indicates the city council is effectively utilizing revenues collected contrary to the allegations of corruption.
“In the last three months, Juba City Council has worked hard and that is why we are today [Friday] opening these three facilities,” Balla said.
“You are witnessing opening of two health centers and a modern parking yard. The Hai Malakal bus station is no longer like the old one. There is a place of convenience and whatever you need is here,” he added.
Authorities also opened Wulliang Health Center in Khor Williang neighborhood and another hospital was unveiled in the Juba Nabari residential area.
The acting mayor appealed to the state minister of health to equip the newly launched health centers with drugs and good doctors.
