Citizens in Juba the capital of South Sudan have complained of scarcity of goods and rising prices.
A number of citizens interviewed by Radio Tamazuj said prices of consumer goods have risen drastically and the ordinary citizens cannot afford to meet needs of food, education, and health care.
Juba resident Hassan Bilal told Radio Tamazuj the price of a sack of flour reached 1,100 SSP and a jerrycan of cooking oil is 800 SSP, while a sack of sugar is 1,600 SSP.
He pointed out that prices of goods are rising every day.
Traders said the price of consumer goods will decrease with the arrival of SPLM/IO leader Riek Machar and the formation of Transitional Government of National Unity.
Meanwhile, the South Sudanese Pound has gained momentum strength against the dollar in the black market to 35 SSP for 1 dollar where it was around 40 SSP last week.
