The College of Arts, Music and Theatre at the University of Juba in collaboration with Lokekiri group organized and celebrated the World Theatre Day on Monday, highlighting issues of peace, reconciliation, good governance and trauma healing.
Nichola Franco, the Coordinator of the South Sudan Theatre Organization (SSTO), told Radio Tamazuj that the celebration included exhibitions of drama shows mainly focused on peace-building and evaluation of the theatre industry in South Sudan.
Franco further said despite the continuous violence in different parts of the country, the theatre body has created a mobile theatre that will be exhibiting 100 already produced drama episodes in Juba, Wau and Bor towns.
He added that the mobile theatre focuses on social problems facing civilians since the violence broke out in 2013 in South Sudan.
