Malakia (in red) won over Hilal (in blue) with 69 points to 65 on Monday in competitions of the Central Equatoria State Basketball Association (CESBA) at Nimratalata stadium in Juba.

The performance of both of the two teams was very strong during this match, but in the final minutes of the match Malakia was able to pull ahead of Hilal.

Tiger Riek, Hilal’s coach, said the shortage of training grounds had affected his team, blaming this for the loss.

For his part, Malakia’s coach Bushari said that luck  was with his squad, noting that they won in spite of four players on his team suffering injuries during the match. He predicted this will affect the team's performance in the next match.
