Juba basketball: Malakia beats Munuki 75-68

Malakia defeated Munuki team by 75 points to 68 points on Saturday in the eighth week of the Central Equatoria State Basketball Association league at Nimira Talata Basketball stadium.

The comeback win saw Malakia (in red) catch up with Munuki (in green) in the final minutes.

Malakia’s roster includes James Lawrence, William Chier, Samer Cosmas, James Tangun, Tong Marino, Ringo Mario, Victor James, Goaner Abraham, Tong Anthony, Matur Maker, Ount Okech, Malith Madol and coach Bushara

Munuki’s roster includes Abraham Mabior, Wani Joseph, Deng Chan, Bak Lino, Tokriel Yorng, Dut Aguek, John Akok, Isaac Peter, K Deng Mathiang, Ricky Manga, Madit Tieny, Chol Deng.

Eleven teams in total are participating in the Juba league: Nimra Talata, Nasir, National, Munuki, Malakia, Gudele, Warriors, Hilal, Citizen, Tiger, and Black Star.

This week, Hilal will face Nimira Talata on Sunday, 10 January, Nasir will face Tiger on Wednesday, 13 January, Citizen will face Malakia on Thursday, 14 January, Black Star will face Nimira Talata on Friday, 15 January, Gudele will face Warriors on Saturday, 16 January, Munuki will face Hilal on Sunday, 17 January.
